A. Payments
We may use Stripe for:
-
payment links;
-
ACH payments;
-
saved payment methods; and
-
related payment processing services.
When you make a payment, Stripe may process personal and transaction data such as your name, email address, billing address, payment method information, transaction amount, transaction date, payment status, merchant details, and related support or dispute information. Stripe describes these categories of data in its Privacy Policy and related legal materials.
B. Financial Connections
Where you provide authorization, we may use Stripe Financial Connections to collect and receive financial account data from your linked bank or brokerage accounts for purposes such as:
-
preparing financial statements;
-
supporting bookkeeping and accounting workflows;
-
verifying account ownership;
-
facilitating authorized ACH-related functions; and
-
providing related financial analysis and reporting services.
Stripe states that Financial Connections allows users to securely share their financial data with a business and supports use cases involving bank account verification, balances data, ownership details, and transactions data. Stripe’s support documentation also states that, with your consent, Stripe may access and store copies of account details, balances, transactions, and ownership details from linked financial accounts.
Stripe’s support materials further state that Stripe and its service providers may store financial institution login credentials so they can connect to a financial account and regularly collect updated data that the user has agreed to share. Accordingly, if you maintain a linked account connection, updated financial data may continue to be refreshed while that connection remains active, subject to your permissions and Stripe’s controls.
C. Stripe’s Role
Depending on the context, Stripe may act as a processor or service provider on our behalf for certain activities and may also act as a controller for certain independent purposes such as compliance, security, fraud prevention, and related lawful business operations. Stripe explains that its role depends on the specific context of processing.
D. Stripe Documentation
Additional information about Stripe’s privacy and data practices is available through Stripe’s official privacy and legal documentation.
